Who Is Prof Greg Ibe?

0

Who is Prof. Greg Ibe? He is a man who doesn’t play politics of rancour and/ or bitterness. Rather, he sees politics as a friendly exercise devoid of violence, so he is not desperate to govern Abia, and hasn’t shown any sign of desperation. He was shocked to hear of the death of Prof. Uche Eleazar Ikonne. Saddened by the bad news he had received, he sent a condolence message, expressing his sorrow at his death and ordering his campaign council to suspend all political activities, just to show respect to the dead and to commiserate with his family over the passing of a scholar.

But, if you can remember, the deceased didn’t show the same spirt of comradeship, when Prof. Greg Ibe returned from the States, after a knee surgery. Well, different folks for different strokes. Recall that one of the media aides to the deceased had hidden under a congratulatory message to insult Prof. Greg Ibe. Subsequently, different propagandas emanated from same camp targeted at demarketing Prof. Greg Ibe, with unfounded allegations and unnecessary accusations. But, despite all that they had done in the name of politics against him, Prof. Greg Ibe, evidently, mourned the demise of his fellow gubernatorial candidate, to show he doesn’t play politics of acrimony. This is the kind of man Abians need as their governor.

Who is Prof. Greg Ibe? He is the Chosen One. When it was time for primary elections to be conducted in Abia APGA, Prof. Greg Ibe and three other aspirants were cleared, their popularities tested. At the end of the day, Prof. Greg Ibe won the primary election, and was of the view that Chief Chikwe Udensi, Etigwe Uwa SAN and General Ijioma should come together and work with him so as to deliver a decayed State from collapsing completely. He actually readied himself for a team work. Instead of throwing their weight behind him, they chose to toe the path of litigations, accusing Prof. Greg Ibe of crimes he never committed. They three really want to frustrate him so as to please their sponsors, but because God is with Prof. Greg Ibe, he has won the suits filed against him by General Ijioma and Etigwe Uwa SAN, and hopefully, the Appeal Court, on Thursday next week, will upturn the High Court judgement. And once the judgement is given in favour of Prof. Greg Ibe, Chief Chikwe Udensi will go home with his tail between his legs. He is not, by any stretch of the imagination, a trustworthy politician, and his imaginings are laced with selfishness, always in agreement with the corrupt government of Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu. You might be right, if you call him the Governor’s stooge.

Obviously, Prof. Greg Ibe had attended Boys High School Ihube, Okigwe and had sat for his final examination, graduating with his WAEC certificate. To prove his innocence, Prof. Greg Ibe published his WAEC certificate and reiterated that he never forged his certificate, and had no reasons to do that, since he has his certificate already. Still, his opponents are bent on frustrating him, with pull-him-down syndrome being evident, but because Prof. Greg Ibe has no skeleton in his cupboard, their machinations will surely hit the rocks. Despite their moves to frustrate the incoming governor of Abia state, Prof. Greg Ibe, in his true nature, hasn’t stopped praying for them and asking God to have mercy on them. He is a practical Christian, and God will never allow him to be put to shame by enemies of new Abia. If his ilks had governed Abia in the past, this space would have been a paradise, to state the least.

Who is Prof. Greg Ibe? He is a man with mind blowing testimonies, and being a Chancellor of a private university is no mean feat. In fact, he doesn’t like trumpeting his achievements, but, clearly, he has invested a lot in Abia state. Truth is, many a Abian have gained employment in his establishments, making him the highest employer of labour in Abia state. And amongst the gubernatorial candidates in Abia, he is the only person whose investments are here in Abia. If not that the powers that be, out of sheer wickedness, had fought against him, he would have built his Innovation Centre, Technical College, and Teaching Hospital in Abia. His only interest is to change the face of Abia, and help unemployed youths in Abia acquire skills that will enable them to be financially independent and take good care of their families, afterward.

Certainly, he is a progressive, and if he could make wealth in his own right, he can transform Abia state into a cynosure of all eyes. His philanthropic/ humanitarian works had put smiles on the faces of people, his scholarship scheme functioning. He had parted with a huge amount of money for Abians to receive free medical care. Also, during Christmas period, he provided buses that conveyed Abians residing in Aba to their villages, free of charge. The same job was done in January, to make sure Abians in Abia North weren’t stranded in their villages due to lack of funds. This is the kind of man Prof. Greg Ibe is. Of course, he is not an emergency philanthropist. His name can be bracketed with the names of world-class achievers, so Abians are blessed to have him as their own, sentiments aside.
