Amid political tensions in Rivers State, General Asabuja asserts that former Governor Nyesom Wike cannot claim the title of Jagaban. He stresses the leadership of Governor Sim Fubara and the end of Wike’s era.
As political tension rises over the expiration of Local Government Area Chairmen’s tenure and the takeover by Governor Sim Fubara’s supporters in Rivers State, General Gabriel Asabuja has declared that former Governor Nyesom Wike cannot be considered the Jagaban of Rivers State.
General Asabuja explained that former Governors Rotimi Amaechi and Peter Odili have retired to their homes, questioning why Wike believes he can continue to exert influence in the state after his tenure has ended.
“We have only one Jagaban in Nigeria, and Wike cannot be the Jagaban of Rivers State; his time has passed. Wike is the one who gave us Sim Fubara, and we are now following Fubara. You see that green pen, Fubara will continue to write with it,” General Asabuja asserted.
General Asabuja’s comments highlight the ongoing power struggle and the shifting political landscape in Rivers State, emphasizing the transition to Governor Sim Fubara’s leadership.
