Why We Closed Down 197 Schools – Abia State Govt. | READ DETAILS
The governor Alex Otti led Abia State Government, has shut down 197 private schools in the state through the state’s ministry of education.
This was disclosed on Monday by the Honourable Commissioner for Information and Culture, Okey Kanu, while addressing newsmen at the Government House in Umuahia on the outcome of state Executive Council meeting.

According to the Commissioner, the schools which were operating below approved standard, were closed in line with governor Alex Otti’s resolve to reform the education sector.
Kanu revealed that about 900 private schools had so far been inspected in the ongoing inspection of private schools in Abia state.
