APC chieftain Ohiri O. Lewis has urged Nigerians to remain patient with President Bola Tinubu, citing that his policies are already delivering benefits and hold immense promise for the future. Speaking at an event with APC leaders in Obingwa LGA, Lewis emphasized party unity, highlighted challenges like high petrol prices, and praised Tinubu’s focus on empowering Nigerians.
Designer Ohiri O. Lewis, a prominent chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has urged Nigerians to exercise patience with President Bola Tinubu, emphasizing that his policies are already yielding benefits and are set to bring more dividends soon. Lewis shared his thoughts during an online television program, Focal Point, where he addressed key issues facing the nation and his party.
Speaking on his confidence in Tinubu’s leadership, Lewis stated, “We need to have a little patience with the president. Let’s not be in a hurry to assess him. A lot of good things are on the way.” He described President Tinubu as a leader with a deep love for humanity and empowerment, qualities he credited for Tinubu’s victory in the presidential election.
In December 2024, Lewis hosted APC leaders and members from Obingwa Local Government Area (LGA), emphasizing the need for unity within the party. He called on members to remain focused, stating that the APC is poised to deliver greater dividends to its members and the larger community.
Lewis encouraged party members to rally behind the president’s vision, underscoring the importance of collective effort in achieving set goals. “Unity is key for us as a party. The benefits of remaining steadfast will be evident soon,” he assured.
While acknowledging the economic challenges Nigerians face, particularly due to the high cost of petrol, Lewis reassured citizens that the president and his team are working tirelessly to alleviate the burden. “The only challenge we have now is the high cost of petrol, but I am confident the government will resolve this issue. Nigerians will smile soon,” he said.
Lewis also highlighted a major economic issue—Nigeria’s reliance on imports. He advised that producing essential goods locally would significantly reduce the cost of the dollar and boost the economy. “If I meet the president, I will tell him that Nigeria’s main problem is being a consuming country. Once we start producing what we need, the cost of the dollar will crash,” he explained.
The APC chieftain expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for appointing sons and daughters of Abia State to key positions in his administration. He also praised Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu for his dedication to ensuring Abians benefit from the federal government’s initiatives.
“President Tinubu has shown great love for Abia State by appointing our sons and daughters to significant political offices. Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu’s efforts in this regard are commendable,” Lewis stated.
Ohiri O. Lewis remains optimistic about the future under President Tinubu’s leadership. He urged Nigerians to be patient, stay united, and trust in the transformative policies of the administration. With continued support and effort, Lewis believes the nation is on the path to greater prosperity.
