Julius Abure, Chairman of Peter Obi’s faction of Labour Party has reacted to the emergence of a presidential candidate from a faction of the party.
The party which serves as the platform under which Presidential aspirant of Igbo extraction, Peter Obi is contesting has expressed shock at the sudden emergence of a Presidential hopeful in a faction led by one Callistus Okafor.
Abure in an interview with Arise TV admitted there is a lawsuit on group, insisting it is nothing to raise concerns as layers of the party are handling the case.
He also pointed out that Okafor’s tenure as Deputy Chairman of the party expired since 2014.
According to Abure, the factional chairman only tried gaining public attention with the emergence of Peter Obi as his faction’s presidential candidate.
He further disclosed Okafor was expelled from the party in 2017 and the party has since moved on.
