OTTI VS AHIWE(Tribunal Update): PDP Witnesses Reveal How LP Thugs Disrupted Guber Election In Ikwuano LGA | READ FULL

 

 

The People’s Democratic party (PDP), Ikwuano Local Government Area of Abia state collation agent, Mr Sunny Dominic Nwagbo, on Friday, told the Governorship election petition tribunal that the election in that area was not free and fair, as thugs whom he alleged are supporters of Labour Party disrupted the election process and intimidated voters.

 

Nwagbo who appeared before the tribunal as the prosecution witness 10 (PW10) in the petition filed by PDP/ Okey Ahiwe- against INEC , Labour Party and Alex Otti said on March 18, some voters who were not accredited using the BVAS machine were allowed to vote.

When asked if he knows the names of those who were not accredited but were allowed to vote, the witness said no. However, he claimed to know the names of voters who were allegedly intimidated.

 

The witness also alleged that he did not sign the LGA collation result because he was forced out of the collation centre by military men.

Similarly, the Prosecuting witness 11, Mr Unegbu Emmanuel who acted as Ibere 2 ward collation agent of the PDP; Azubuike Osondu (PW12)- Nchara Akanu ward; Awa Daniel Chijioke (PW13) – Oboro ward 2 and Agodi Obinna Felix (PW14) – Oboro ward 4 all in Ikwuano LGA, stated that INEC officials failed to give them form EC8B and they were also chased away from the collation centre.

 

“I was at the collation centre protesting when INEC officials were collating the results wrongly before I was chased away by the military” PW 13 stated.

The three respondents however opposed the witnesses’ claims.

 

Earlier before the presentation of witnesses, counsel to the PDP, Prof. Paul Chibuike Ananaba had appealed for leave to present two additional subpoenaed witnesses.

 

The respondents informed the tribunal that the petitioners only served them “this morning” adding that they need time to respond to the application.

 

The tribunal adjourned hearing into the application till Saturday, August 5.
