President Muhammadu Buhari-led government has been advised by the Christian Association of Nigeria to admit the security challenges rocking the country and fix it.
The association noted that the reluctance of the federal government to apprehend people behind insecurity in the country is causing a lot of killings in the country.
CAN in a statement released through its General Secretary, Joseph Daramola, said, “The leadership of the Christian Association of Nigeria condemns the killing of about 22 people in Plateau State and calls on the President Muhammadu Buhari and his government to stop paying lip service to the unending killings in the country.”
The Christian Association further stated that releasing statements and holding meetings with the security chiefs will not stop the killings of innocent Nigerians.
CAN added that until the Federal Government take action to arrest the people responsible for the killings, the shedding of innocent blood will not cease.
CAN said, “We charge the Federal Government to fix the security challenges or throw in the towel. The police and the military should be tasked to wake up to their responsibilities before these criminals turn the country into another Afghanistan.”
