Information reaching AFN has it that the alliance meeting which held between Dr. Uche Ogah the gubernatorial candidate of APC in Abia State and Dr. Alex Otti OFR of APGA ended with both parties not agreeing to work together.
The meeting which we gathered held in the house of a prominent APC chieftain in Umuahia, had the presence of Dr. Alex Otti OFR and some members of his team, Dr. Uche Ogah and members of his team and other mediators.
AFN learnt that the meeting was to consolidate both fronts and work as one during the 9th March gubernatorial election, neither of the candidates agreed to step down for the other. Both resolve to go to the field and test their strength.
An insider in Ogahs team informed AFN that his boss wanted Otti to team up with him and wrest power from Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu which was why he initiated the meeting. He went further to explain that the meeting fall apart because both individuals refused to concede after the long hours of meeting.
Another source from Otti’s team informed AFN that Otti is the strongest contender and wouldn’t have stepped down for anyone. He made it clear that if their would be any stepping down, then it will be from Ogah.
Another statesman who was also in the meeting and wants to remain anonymous, exposed that they held a healthy meeting and that the discussion is still in process. He explained that such discussions do not end in one day and that within some few days something positive may happen.
Remember, few days ago, the Accord Party gubernatorial candidate, Barrister Emeka Uwakolam endorsed the candidature of Dr. Alex Otti and pulled his structure to work Otti.
