Mrs Toluige Olokoobi Babalola, mother of the young boy that went viral in the popular “mummy calm down” video in 2020, has allegedly committed suic-ide.
Mrs Babalola allegedly committed suicid-e in Benin, the capital of Edo state over unknown reason(s).
According to a neighbour, the mother of three who works as a medicine distributor, has never been seen quarreling with her husband who is a taxi driver and a car dealer.
Reacting to the incident, the Edo State Police Command’s PRO, SP Chidi Nwabuzor said the deceased’s husband reported the incident to the police station.
According to the police, Mr Babalola claimed that he returned home from the market and found his wife hanged with a rope.
Babalola said he alongside neighbours, rushed her to a hospital where she was confirmed dead.
The police has however detained Babalola for questioning.
The Police PRO queried why Babalola moved the corpse first instead of reporting to the police.
