In a historic show of support, the Bende Council of Traditional Rulers unanimously passed a vote of confidence in Mayor Chijioke Nwankwo during their monthly meeting at the Bende Multi-purpose Hall on 11th September 2024. The decision reflects growing appreciation for the remarkable progress Bende Local Government Area has experienced since Nwankwo assumed office ten months ago.
During the meeting, the traditional rulers praised Mayor Nwankwo’s leadership, citing his dedication to community development and quoting Proverbs 29:2: “When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice.” They commended his efforts in improving infrastructure, enhancing public services, and promoting good governance, all of which have positively impacted the welfare of the people of Bende.
“Since your assumption of office, we have witnessed significant improvements in our community,” remarked the Chairman of the Council. “Your commitment to the welfare of our people and your dedication to your duties have not gone unnoticed. Today, we are here to express our complete support for your administration and assure you that the entire community is behind you.”
In his response, Mayor Chijioke Nwankwo expressed heartfelt gratitude to the traditional rulers for their endorsement and pledged to continue working diligently for the betterment of Bende LGA. He reiterated his commitment to aligning with the development agenda set forth by Governor Alex Otti, promising that Bende would continue to benefit from responsible and effective leadership.
