One Baban Yello, has pleaded guilty in court, after he was accused of torturing one Yindusura Dathan using witchcraft in Adamawa state.
Yello was among four men remanded in prison custody by a magistrate court in Yola, the state capital, for allegedly practicing witchcraft on victims.
Magistrate Adamu Abdulrazak, remanded the men; Sani Bolere Baban Yello, Kero Jediel, Babangida Amos and Zebulum Benjamin who are allegedly holding two people in a trance and torturing them through witchcraft for months.
Kero, Babangida and Zebulum who were joined as 1st, 2nd and 3rd defendants were sued to court by one Debe Lamina Dathan, while Baban Yello was sued by Gidado Idi.
In his complaint, Gidado alleged that his son, Abubakar Gidado, fell sick for more than a year, and that when the defendant whom he suspected to be the one responsible for the sickness was taken to Sarkin Mayu Adamawa, he admitted bewitching his child.
On her part, Debe Lamina Dathan, a businesswoman at Wuro Yanka, alleged that her brother, Yindusura Dathan, was ill for a long while, and when he was taken for prayers, it was said that the defendants took away his spirit.
When the complaint was read and explained to Baban Yello, he pleaded guilty, confessing that he was a witch who had been torturing Yindusura.
