Prince Obinna Nwosu, the 31year old African Democratic Congress(ADC) candidate for Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal House of Representatives come 2023, is set to break the record as the youngest Parliamentarian in Nigeria if he eventually emerges as the member representing Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency come 2023.

According to Richard Munang he said and I quote;
“Always know that one is never too young or too old to be a leader. Leadership is not about age but about ideas”.
One of the illustrious sons of the Ohuhu clan, Prince Obinna Nwosu could be said to be among the eminently qualified young Nigerians seeking political office in 2023.
Obinna Nwosu is the second son of His Royal Majesty, Eze Dr. Sir Uzo Nwosu and Ugoeze Professor, Ngozi Nwosu from Umukabia Okaiga Alike, Ohuhu in Umuahia North Local Government Area of Abia State.
Prince Obinna Nwosu, is a passionate and vibrant young man who understands the importance of having young people to be part of decision making. This is because he is aware of the negative implications of not getting involved in politics especially if one has a deep passion for nation building. In 2021, Prince Obinna Nwosu, took it upon himself to create a nationwide awareness, encouraging Nigerians, especially youths to go and register for their voters card. This he did as he embarked on the distribution of over 500 customized GET YOUR PVC sensitization T-shirts to various states across the country. This noble gesture earned him so much goodwill and recognition from notable Nigerians from around the country. In fact, it would be rightly said that, Prince Obinna Nwosu was the first to have thought of creating such innovative kind of awareness on the need for young Nigerians to get involved in the process of leadership selection through getting their PVCs ready.
Prince Obinna Nwosu is in politics today not for personal gains but he feels the need for young people like himself to have a seat at the table of decision making, and to help change the narrative. Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency which he intends to represent at the green chamber, has lost what representation truly means, simply because over the years, we haven’t had individuals who are willing to write their names in gold like the Micheal Okpara’s of this world did during their time. It is on record that the Eastern region under the dynamic leadership of the iconic son of Ohuhu land in the person of Dr. Michael Okpara (Blessed memory) used to be the fastest growing economy in world. Isn’t it interesting and worthy of note that almost four decades after the exit of Dr. M.I Okpara, another Ohuhu son in the person of Prince Obinna Nwosu at 31, is out to write his name in gold by providing Ikwuano/Umuahia with quality representation. He is determined to undo the years of poor representation, and pick up the baton from where late Dr. M.I Okpara stopped.
Dr. Michael Iheonukara Okpara became Premier of eastern region at the age of 39. If Prince Obinna Nwosu should be elected by the people of Ikwuano/Umuahia as their Rep Member, Prince Obinna Nwosu will be 32, making him the youngest Parliamentarian in the history of this current dispensation.No wonder a famous writer once said that,
“Leadership isn’t about age but rather, leadership is about influence, impact & inspiration”.
Obinna Nwosu has become a national brand and an inspiration to millions of young Abians and indeed Nigerians, and this is evident by the multitude of young Nigerians who now follow him across all his social media handles especially on his verified twitter page.
Prince Obinna, comes from an academic home, given that his mother is a distinguished Professor of education. This influence instilled in him a high regard for the educational sector. This gives credence to the fact that one of his top priority when he gets into the green chamber is to sponsor a bill he labeled as a “Pay Teachers First Policy”, which will ensure that teachers are paid first, before anyone else including the executive and the legislature. This bill, he believes will enable our country take our educational sector more seriously. As Nelson Mandela once said and I quote “Education is the most powerful weapon we can use to change the world”
The Abia born politician is a London trained finance and oracle database consultant who holds a BSC in mathematics, an MSC in Investment and Finance from England. Obinna Nwosu is a Certified Chartered Accountant, an Oracle certified expert and also a Certified Business Administrator from Wales. He is currently enrolled into unconventional school of politics, policy and governance (SPPG).
Obinna Nwosu is happily married to the love of his life Mrs Mary Nkem Nwosu, from Ibeku, Umuahia and their union has been blessed.
