A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Abia State and former Senatorial Aspirant, Chief Onyekachi Iheme has stated that the governor of the state, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu, has but a short time to stay in power as the election which brought him to power cannot be sustained in the courts.
Chief Iheme who stated this while fielding questions from newsmen said there was brazen rape on the electoral process which brought about the supposed reelection of the governor.
“At the moment, Dr Uchechukwu Sampson Ogah has everything it takes in his possession to convince the tribunal to reclaim his mandate. The materials needed to oust the governor have been made ready and are on ground. We have confidence in the judiciary that we will reclaim the mandate given to Dr Ogah,” he said.
On the matter of electoral tribunals and the supposed distractions that come with it, Chief Iheme said “if you say you are a leader, you should be a focused leader, you should have the confidence of the Peoples mandate; there is no need begging. My advice to the governor is that he should focus on the mandate supposedly given to him, as anyone who feels the process of his election is flawed still reserves the right to go to court.”
