ABIA DRIVERS PROTEST: I Have Never Disobeyed Gov. Otti’s Instruction – Tochi Ephraim Replies Protesters

Following the report making the rounds on the protest of Driver’s Union in Aba, who came to the state capital to register their grievances over the illegal activities of one Tochi Ephraim and his men, who they claim refused to abide by government directives that stopped all forms of levy collections, the accused, Tochi Ephraim has refuted the allegation.

Tochi who refuted the allegation in a press release made available to newsmen on Thursday, explained that the allegations levelled against him were false and were basically propagated with the aim of putting him in bad light before the government.

Tochi posited that immediately the government suspended all revenue collection in the state, he has never collected any revenue from anyone because he is aware that his contract has been terminated.

He challenged anyone with facts to come forward and provide evidence of him collecting any form of levies or forever desist from disparaging his name and labeling him a lawless citizen of this state

Tochi went ahead to threaten those disparaging his name as he will soon seek legal means of redress.

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN

“It has come to my notice that some disgruntled elements parading themselves as members of DRIVERS UNION from OSISIOMA FLYOVER ABA today 9/08/23 went to the office of the Deputy Governor, led by one HENRY CHIMA, to say that I TOCHI EPHRAIM has been collecting illegal levies from them in defiance to the State Government directive on SUSPENSION OF ALL REVENUES as regards TRANSPORT UNIONS.

“To this end, I TOCHI EPHRAIM state categorically that after the announcement of the SUSPENSION OF ALL REVENUES by the state government which automatically terminated my contract as a revenue contractor in the state, that I have never collected any revenue from anyone in this guise, both personally or by proxy, and I hereby challenge anyone who has contrary evidence to come public with it or forever desist from parading my name as a disobedient and lawless citizen of this state.

“I also wish to remind all those involved in this unruly behavior that CHARACTER ASSASSINATION is and remains an OFFENSE AND PUNISHABLE BY LAW in this country as any more of this will attract legal actions against these non-state actors.”

God bless ABIA STATE

God bless Nigeria

May governor Alex Otti Succeed.
