How To Make Africa Gain World Respect – Ghana President Tells African Leaders
President Nana Akufo-Addo of Ghana, has advised African leaders to desist from borrowing money from the Western world in other for Africa to receive it’s deserved respect from World leaders.
Addo during his opening remark at the ongoing US-African Leaders Summit in Washington on Tuesday, said instead of borrowing, African leaders should invest Africa’s money in Africa in other to make the continent a prosperous one.
In his words;
“If we stop being beggars and spend African money inside the continent, Africa will not need to ask for respect from anyone, we will get the respect we deserve. If we make it prosperous as it should be, respect will follow”.
Akufo-Addo’s advise came on the day that the International Monetary Fund (IMF) agreed to give Ghana a $3bn (£2.4bn) loan to alleviate an unprecedented economic downturn in his country.
