Speaking in an exclusive interview with ALL FACTS NEWSPAPER, the speaker said Honourable Uchendu puts a phone on recording and tapes all the proceedings of the House to capture every opinion and contribution of each lawmaker during executive session.

He described his purported impeachment as a charade which holds no water, noting that most of the lawmakers whose names and signatures appeared on the list of members in support of his impeachment are currently not in the country and as such could not have signed the supposed list.

“when you have a Deputy Speaker that takes directive from an aide to the governor, that records executive session proceedings and forward to them; in that everybody that says whatever they say, is recorded. When he comes for executive session, there are four phones, one is on permanent recording, everything that everybody says is transmitted to him (Erondu).

“When you look at the charade that they did; the House was adjourned and the former Deputy Speaker without the consent of the Speaker, reconvened the House outside the premises of the legislative arm of government; in a government guest house, on a dining table with the offer of monetary inducement.

“you must show physical presence if you want to support an impeachment” the Speaker stated.

Reacting to Honourable Uchendu’s allegation that he pocketed security vote for nine months, the Speaker made it clear that security vote is at his discretion just like the governor’s security vote. He gives whoever he want from it.

“The issue of security vote is at the discretion of Mr Speaker. I decide who I want to give it to. If you have been with someone that assumes the position of assistant governor in this state and wants to pocket everybody, and wants to pocket the office of the deputy governor if not for the discipline and respect that the SSG gives himself, he would also pocket the office of the Secretary to the State Government.

You have pocketed all the Commissioners, local government chairmen, you decide what happens and you equally want to extend it to the state House of Assembly, and my deputy speaker now aligned himself with such a person, I don’t think I am a fool to tolerate such a character.

“somebody that his duty is to record what I and other members say at the executive session and report verbatim to his master and if his master was the governor direct, I will not bother, but being subservient to a mere aide to the governor, is something that I cannot tolerate any longer and that is the reason I decided to channel that aspect of the money to other meaningful use. It is not his right, it is my right to give.

For 6 months I withheld it and used it to do other meaningful things because you cannot empower your enemies”.
