Godwins speaks on what he will do as New Edo deputy governor
Omobayo Godwins, the newly sworn-in Deputy Governor of Edo State, has assured Governor Godwin Obaseki of his unwavering loyalty and commitment to his directives.
The 37-year-old, who assumed office on Monday following the impeachment of former Deputy Governor Philip Shaibu, expressed his willingness to serve as a supportive deputy to Governor Obaseki.
He made the commitment during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today Programme.
In his pledge, Omobayo affirmed that he is prepared to act in accordance with the governor’s wishes and described himself as a “spare tyre” to his boss.
“Whatever he says I should do is what I will do. He knows my strength,” Omobayo said.
He emphasized his readiness to prioritize Governor Obaseki’s agenda and assured his loyalty to the governor’s leadership.
Born on July 19, 1986, Omobayo Godwins hails from Akoko Edo Local Government Area.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and a Master’s in Public Administration from the University of Benin.
Additionally, he is a member of esteemed professional bodies such as the Nigerian Society of Engineers and the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria.
