All is now set for the commencement of the 7th edition of the annual International Conference on Information Technology for Economic Development (ICITED) taking place in Gregory University Uturu from 16th to 18th November 2020.
According to a press statement from International Information Technology and Economic Development Association (IITEDA), who are corporate organizers of the annual intellectual feast, this years edition is designed to feature relevant topics under the broad theme, Information and Communication Technology for Health and Wellbeing, and will attract an array of participants and stakeholders from public and private sectors, academia, and professionals in the field of health, communication, media, developmental partners, and non-governmental organizations.
The release further adds that many renowned international conference speakers including Prof Maurice Iwu, former Chairman of the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) and President of Bioresource Institute of Nigeria, Prof Gregory Ibe, International Consultant on Human Capital Development and Chancellor of Gregory University Uturu, Prof Abel Usoro, President of IITEDA, Dr Kingsley Okoye of Tecnologico de Monterrey, Dr Paresh Rathod of Laurea University of Applied Sciences Finland, Dr Tuija Hirvikoskide and Prof Chidi Onuoha, Director GUU WAGEDI, are expected to handle topics on such burning issues as ICT and global maternal mortality, ICT and child killer diseases, ICT and epidemics of communicable diseases, among many others.
The conference, which comes on the heels of the aftermath of the COVID-19 global pandemic, seeks to bring to the front burner the glaring need to mainstream ICT into health and well being of the people.
