How Nigeria Can Get Democracy Right – Dr Okwun Ojah Reveals
Dr. Barrister Okwun Ojah (Ogbankpu Ohafia), Abia born forensic physician, based in Australia, has opined that the reformation and independence of the Judiciary will make Nigeria be seen as a country that practices true democracy.
While featuring on Love FM radio programme : “Heroes of our Democracy” Ojah who was recently nominated as an icon of democracy, said although Nigeria and other African countries have not had much experience of true democracy, his home state, Abia in the recently concluded 2023 governorship election, saw democracy in play.

He expressed hope that governor Alex Otti of Abia state, knows the responsibilities he is faced with and will deliver on his promises to the best of his ability, despite the sorry state the past administration left Abia state in.
“Nigeria is not yet where it is expected to be in terms of democracy, however Nigeria is not the only country in that shoe. Africa as a whole, Sub-saharan much precisely, we are not there.
“Democracy has seen a good light in Abia state. This is why the people are rejoicing .
Ojah noted that he leverages on the biblical injunction.” to whom much is given, much is expected” to continue his philanthropic activities to the poor and vulnerable.
He restated that his philanthropic works is not politically related as he is not identified with any political party, rather all his act of magnanimity are borne out of the love to give back to the people.
