Gov. Alex Otti Has Set Abia On A New Path To Prosperity – AFA

The Awareness Forum for Abia Development and Economic Advancement (AFA), has commended Governor Alex Otti for “setting Abia state on a new path of prosperity” under one year in office.

The Forum in a press statement signed by Prince Francis Ikenga (State coordinator), and Chief Iroabuchi James Chikezie (publicity secretary) noted that governor Otti’s leadership has driven unprecedented positive change, growth and development across various sectors, including; infrastructure and the economy of the state.

AFA pointed that good governance has returned to the south East with the presence of Otti, adding that his developmental projects would create direct and indirect employment and encourage investors back to the state with the existence of a business-friendly economy.

AFA is an alliance of professionals and elites, which is set up to help enthrone and sustain visionary, people-oriented, effective and efficient political leadership that will not only kick-start strong socio-political cum economic transformation in Abia State, but one that will signpost her as the commercial and entrepreneurial hub of Africa.

The statement read in parts;

“It is with great pride that we gather today to celebrate the return of Good Governance in the South East of Nigeria in the order followed by the likes of Dr. M. I. Okpara and Chief Sam Mbakwe, Ph.D, as we take due cognizance of the remarkable achievements of His Excellency Dr. Alex Otti, OFR, in his first 366 days as the Executive Governor of Abia State.

Over the past year, Governor Otti’s leadership has driven unprecedented positive change, growth and development across various sectors, thus setting Abia State on a new path to prosperity.

Infrastructure Development: Governor Otti has spearheaded major road construction projects, significantly improving transportation infrastructure throughout the state. These developments have not only enhanced connectivity but have also formed the building blocks and springboard for the development and economic advancement of Abia State.

We see the Governor building on similar foundations that propelled the economies of the Asian Tigers (South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Singapore), which includes:

1. Good Governance, Transparency and Accountability,
2. Export-oriented Economy,
3. Investment in Small and Medium-scale Enterprises (SMEs) and
4. Political Stability.

It is therefore in recognition of these achievements in 366 Days that AFA is delighted with this Government and hereby declare the Governor of Abia State, His Excellency Dr. Alex Otti, OFR, as the “Symbol of Good Governance in Nigeria,”.

We also stand on this foundation of Good Governance to extend our heartfelt Congratulations to Governor Otti for his focus despite distractions, his strength of character, his extraordinary dedication and these accomplishments, of which, we are witnesses.

Finally, we celebrate with the Great People of Abia State, who are the beneficiaries of this transformation as we look forward to sustained Development and Economic Advancement in Abia State.”
