“We are here this evening on the directive of the National headquarters of our great party, not just to visit Delta State but to visit all the states in the south south zone. These we believe will enable us at the center to understand the health of this party, things we are doing rightly and the things we ought to improve upon”.
“I am sure all of us here will agree that we have about five months to election, and the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC will on the 28th of this month lift ban on electioneering campaigns all over the country, at least for that of the national election, the presidential election and national assembly elections”.
Giadom emphasized that the zonal working committee was in Asaba to listen to all and will collate reports from the tour for critical evaluation of happenings in each states and fashion out ways of resolving every single issues identified, with a view to guarantee and secure election victory for the presidential, governorship, national and state assembly candidates of the party in the states.
“So it means that we are getting very close to action time and it becomes important for us as a political party to come back to our respective states to critically evaluate what is happening in our respective states so that we can report to the center and be able to fashion out what will be necessary, including the messages and the things that we need to do to enable us secure victory in our respective states”.
“It is in that regard that we are here this afternoon to meet with our leaders, to meet with all of you who are stakeholders of this party, to clearly understand what is happening in Delta state, what should we do better than we are doing now, how do we work together to ensure victory for our presidential candidate in Delta State, what should we do to ensure that the Governor of Delta State come 2023 is APC, what do we do to return our candidates for senate, house of representatives and the house of Assembly to APC”.
Honorable Victor Giadom expressed delight at the Delta State Chapter of the party for their unity of purpose and wonderful efforts of galvanising massive support for the APC in the State. He however challenged members of the party to continue the task of rebuilding and blocking all loopholes of disunity in the party, noting that the unity and victory of APC is a collective responsibility.
“I am aware that our candidate and our party in Delta so far are doing extremely very very well and we are very proud of all the wonderful work all of you are doing in this state. So thank you for what you have done so far. But we will be expecting more from you at this point. There will be no need for all of us to be in this party, to struggle the much that we have struggled, the contributions you have made so far without securing victory in Delta state, there will be no need for us to be in this party”.
“And since there is need for us to be in this party, it therfore behoves on all of us to put in our very best to ensue that we win our elections in 2023, to ensure that the presidential candidate or our party wins in Delta, to ensure that our Governorship candidate of APC wins in Delta state, to ensure that we remove PDP out of Delta State and bring good governance to Delta State. That is my responsibility, that is our responsibility, that is the responsibility of the party at the center”.
“So as your son, and somebody you elected, I am here to fratanize with you, talk with all of us and find out what is it that we can improve upon, what are those things that we are doing that we should do, and what do we do to ensure victory of this party. The key to this meeting is to ensure victory”.
“I want to thank the chairman of this party and other leaders of this party for the unity that we have achieved so far. But to me, I want to make sure that we have one united party, that is our commitment, that is our desire and we will vigorously pursue that to ensure we have victory in the state”.
“But important, is to hear from all of us, what can we do, what are those things we can do together and improve on our present situation. You will agree with me that it is the collective unity, the collective hardwork of all of us here that will secure victory of this party. It is not myself alone, it is not our state Chairman. If you leave the state Chairman alone, this party can not move forward, but it is the collective strength of all of us, and by extention our friends and supporters that are not here this afternoon that will enable us win our elections”.
“So, I will listen more and allow leaders of this party to speak more. Let us talk among ourselves and see what we can report back to the party at the centre as the things that we have found out in Delta state that will help us win election”, Giadom concluded.
