“APGA National Chairman Edozie Njoku declared the party’s crisis over after a Supreme Court ruling recognized him as the legitimate leader. Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State supports the new reconciliatory efforts.”
The National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Chief Edozie Njoku, has announced that the longstanding crisis within the party has finally come to an end. This declaration follows a decisive Supreme Court ruling that recognized Njoku as the legitimate Chairman of APGA, thereby concluding a protracted power struggle.
The ruling not only confirmed Njoku’s leadership but also led to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) officially acknowledging him as the authentic Chairman of the party. This development marks a significant turning point for APGA, which has been embroiled in internal conflicts for an extended period.
Addressing the press in Abuja on Friday, Njoku emphasized that there is no conflict between him and Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State, the only governor elected on the APGA platform. He underscored the party’s commitment to reconciliation and unity moving forward.
“We have been moving around for reconciliation. You know when you’re doing reconciliation, you just have to be humble,” Njoku said. He further elaborated, “I’m sure everybody here is aware of our struggle. I’m sure you’re aware that the struggle and the crisis in APGA are now over.”
Njoku appealed to the media to avoid exacerbating tensions within the party, stressing that the focus now is on peace and stability. “I’m begging the press, let us not overheat the polity in APGA. All we’re looking for now is peace. There’s no crisis in APGA. We have only one Governor, which is the Governor of Anambra State, and there’s no quarrel between myself and him.”
Reflecting on the lengthy period of turmoil, Njoku expressed relief that the crisis has been resolved. “We have suffered this crisis for a long time and now it has finally come to an end. Thank God INEC has finally recognized me and the Supreme Court has given its judgment in my favor. So, there’s no more crisis. It is all over.”
Governor Soludo’s support is seen as pivotal in reinforcing the party’s new direction. Both leaders are now focused on fostering unity and driving the party forward, emphasizing the importance of collaboration and mutual respect within APGA.
This development is expected to strengthen APGA’s position and enhance its prospects in future elections, as the party can now concentrate on its political agenda without internal distractions. The resolution of the crisis marks a new chapter for APGA, one characterized by unity, reconciliation, and a shared vision for the future.
