E-transmission: APC afraid despite controlling 31 states – Dino Melaye

Former Senator representing Kogi West, Dino Melaye, has claimed that the All Progressives Congress, APC, is unsettled as the 2027 general elections approach.

He noted that despite the party’s dominance across the country with 31 sitting governors, it remains resistant to the electronic transmission of election results.

In a post shared on X on Tuesday, Melaye ridiculed the ruling party, describing its stance as evidence of anxiety and lack of confidence.

He pointed out that even with control of most states, the APC appears reluctant to support measures that would enhance transparency in the electoral process.

“APC is doing e-registration for members, but doesn’t want e-transmission of results. With 31 governors, dem still dey fear,” he wrote.

Melaye also suggested that the Senate’s unwillingness to back proposed electoral amendments signals deeper troubles within the party.

According to him, the situation indicates internal instability, stressing that electoral integrity must be upheld.

“Implosion is imminent and explosion is guaranteed. End of the road. Votes must count,” he added.

His comments come amid increasing demonstrations in Abuja, where protesters have criticized the Senate for declining to amend the Electoral Act to allow real-time electronic transmission of election results.
