ADAMAWA GUBER: How Senator Aishatu Edged Out Five Men
In an epochal victory, Federal lawmaker, Aishatu Binani has edged out five men to clinch the gubernatorial ticket of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Adamawa State.
The Adamawa Central Senator floored Nuhu Ribadu, former chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), and Jibrilla Bindow, former governor of the state, to emerge the winner of the race.
The landslide victory means the Red Chamber member is the first woman to win the governorship candidacy of a major political party in the State.
Chairman of the Electoral Committee, Gambo Lawan, who announced the results, said Binani scored 430 votes to defeat her closest rival, Ribadu, who had 288 votes.
Former governor, Bindo had 103 votes to clinch the third position.
