DILAPIDATED SCHOOLS, ABIA STATE ROYAL FATHER CALLS FOR HELP (PHOTOS)

A call has gone to Abia State government to come to the aid of the people of Oriendu Autonomous community in Umuahia North L.G.A by re-roofing and renovating Oriendu Primary School to enable the pupil have and enjoy conducive learning environment.

The Traditional Ruler of Oriendu Autonomous Community in Ohuhu, His Royal Majesty Eze Pst. Philip Ajomiwe who made the call in his Palace during Abia Facts Online Television Program ” Akuko si na ime Obodo”, explained that the pupil of the school have suffered so much due to unconducive learning environment which made them to resort to learning under a mango tree, regretting that most of the pupil have been exposed to all manner of dangers as a result of this.

He further said that apart from re-roofing and renovation of their school, one major challenge the community is facing is that of road, which has made it impossible for farmers in the area to evacuate their farm produce to the urban area to be sold.

Eze (Pastor) Ajomiwe who  also doubles as the Chairman Umuahia North L.G.A Council of Ndi Eze said that on his part, he has been able to bring a lot of palliative measures on their deplorable condition of road for years by paying labourers to sand fill the bad portions from time to time, adding that the government of Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu had promised to reconstruct the road for them during his last visit to the area and used the opportunity to call on him to redeem his promise to enable the people heave a sigh of relieve.

The royal father hinted that Oriendu people are very

hospitable as witnessed during their new yam festival which comes up by September, stressing that the people celebrates Ezeji rite during such occasion on Orie Market.

He said as a pastor, he does not belong in some of the deities in the community such as Uhiajoku, Kamanu, and Ajani, pointing out that he has been able to bring peace to the land ever since he was corronated as the Ndu 1 of Oriendu in the year 2000.

Speaking with Abia Facts reporter Chimezie Okoroafor, in the community, a woman leader, Mrs. Janet Ulonna call on the government to intervene by proving them with a good market as well as constructing their roads.

Also speaking, Chief John Ekeuwa and a youth leader Mr. Nwankwo Uzoma call on the government to assist farmers in the area with farm tools, and to provide them with borehole.
