Abia state governorship hopeful, Dr. Chima Desmond Anyaso, has revealed what Governor Okezie Ikpeazu told him concerning the next governor of the state.
According to Anyaso, the founder, Chima Anyaso Foundation, Governor Ikpeazu assured him that he will not hand over power to a candidate older than Ikpeazu is.
The governorship hopeful made this known on Saturday, April 2, while making a formal declaration of his intention to run for the 2023 Governorship position.
The declaration held at practicing school, Uzuakoli in Bende Local Government Area of the state.
“The current Governor of Abia State, Dr.Okezie Ikpeazu, told me that he cannot hand over governorship to someone older than he is”.
He noted that it is time for the youths and there is no going back.
Recall that recently the rumour of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu anointing former Vice Chancellor of Abia State University Uturu, Professor Eleazar Uche Ikonne as his successor has caused some political turmoil in the state and the professor is said to be above 70 years obviously older than the governor.
