Reagan Ufomba, a prominent figure in Abia State’s political scene, has officially resigned from the PDP, stating that the time had come to move on. With his political history spanning from 2017 to 2023, Ufomba’s next move remains highly anticipated.

In a surprising development, Ochiagha Reagan Ufomba, a key political figure in Abia State and former governorship candidate, has resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Known for his unwavering influence in the political landscape of Abia, Reagan Ufomba announced his exit through a message seen by ALL FACTS NEWSPAPER. He emphasized that his decision to leave the PDP was inevitable and well-timed, referencing his long political journey and recent events within the party as reasons for his departure.

Ufomba, who has been a notable figure in Abia’s politics for over a decade, is no stranger to political reshuffling and change. He first came into the limelight in Abia State as a strong advocate for good governance, transparency, and infrastructure development. Known as “Ochiagha,” a traditional title denoting his leadership and contributions to the state, Ufomba has run for governorship several times, presenting himself as a candidate deeply invested in Abia’s progress.

In his statement, Ufomba wrote, “Every reasonable person must recognise when it’s time to quit.” He underscored that his exit should not surprise those who have closely followed his recent path, particularly since 2017. Notably, when asked if his resignation from the PDP meant he was leaving politics altogether, Ufomba quickly clarified that he would remain politically active, but outside the PDP’s framework.

Although Ufomba’s next steps remain uncertain, his departure from the PDP has sparked widespread speculation. Given his experience and established support base, many believe he may seek alignment with a different party or initiate a new political platform in Abia. As one of Abia’s respected political voices, his actions are likely to influence the state’s political dynamics significantly.

With the 2024 elections around the corner, Reagan Ufomba’s decision could have ripple effects on the PDP’s structure in Abia, and the broader political landscape as other leaders weigh their positions.
