Baby Flogged To Death: Arise & Shine Isn’t An Approved School – Delta Govt | READ DETAILS

The Delta state Government has claimed that Arise and Shine Nursery and Primary School in Asaba, where a 19 month old baby was flogged to death by a teacher, does not have license to operate.

Obinna Udeze was said to have received 31 strokes of cane from one Emeka Nwogbo, son of the school proprietress for being troublesome and wetting himself with tap water. READ HERE

Speaking on Sunday, the State Commissioner for Primary Education, Chika Ossai, said the school has been sealed off, adding that the government will continue clamping down on illegal schools in the state.

“Yes, this (Sunday) morning, the government swung into action and sealed the school for now. Secondly, it is not an approved school.

“The proprietress and the son are in police custody so the state government is very serious about the incident and would follow it to the end, to make sure that those who are operating illegal schools will be dealt with properly.

“Because it will be easier to monitor registered schools but for those illegal ones, we will continue to close them down” the Commissioner told PUNCH.
