ATULOMA ONYEKACHI: Reasons For The Suspension Of GM, Abia Tourism Board
The Abia State government has announced the suspension of Atuloma Onyekachi Jackie as the General Manager of the state Tourism Board.
Her suspension was announced in a statement signed by Barrister Chris Ezem, Secretary to the Abia State Government.
The statement read;
The Governor of Abia State Dr Okezie Victor Ikpeazu has directed the immediate suspension of Atuloma Onyedikachi Jackie as General Manager, Abia State Tourism Board.
To this end, the Hon. Commissioner for Culture and Tourism is to take over all activities of the Board till further notice.
Abians have been wondering why Jackie who seems to have given the Tourism Board a new face since her inception would be suspended.
Investigations made by ALL FACTS NEWSPAPER suggests that Onyekachi Atuloma Jackie may have been suspended by governor Okezie Ikpeazu because she fraternized with members of opposition parties.
Jackie had led members of the 2022 World Tourism Day Celebration Steering Committee on a courtesy visit to the deputy governorship candidate of the Young Progressive Party (YPP) in the state, Dr Chima Desmond Anyaso, in his Igbere country home in Bende Local Government Area of the state.
Anyaso had endorsed the World Tourism Day Celebration promising that his foundation, Chima Anyaso foundation, will support towards the success of the program scheduled to hold on September 27, 2022.
Another reason which may have warranted Jackie’s suspension is owed to an alleged fall out she has with the commissioner of Tourism, ministry of Tourism which is a parent agency to the Tourism Board headed by Jackie.
Jackie was alleged to have sidelined the ministry in the process of organizing the event.
Meanwhile, the Abia state government is yet to reveal the exact reason for Jackie’s suspension.
