Gov. Alex Otti To Name Woman, Retired Generals, Others, As Mayors In Abia | READ MORE
The Executive Governor of Abia State, Dr Alex Otti, OFR, has revealed his plans to create Mayor designations in the 17 Local Government Areas of the state.
The governor while speaking on Thursday, October 12, at the Aba Sports Club, said he would name a woman as the mayor of Aba, while retired generals and billionaires would be named as mayors of various local governments in the state to help him in his quest of developing the entire state.
Otti restated that under his administration, Abia money will not be shared among a few, adding that; “gone are the days when Local Government chairmen would be sharing money. We don’t share money again, I do not even take.”
In his words;
“I will change a few things; a lot of people will not like it but I want to do it. In the next few days, I’ll be announcing a lady as the mayor of Aba. I know what I want her to do for me.
“So in your different local governments, you will be seeing different kinds of people; I will be announcing retired generals, billionaires as mayors of their local governments. If you don’t like it, go and hit your head against the wall.”
“As am developing the state, I need to have army generals in various places, developing the local governments.”
The governor also hinted that from October, there will be public engagement across local governments and wards to hear the complaints of the people and note their needs.
“I want to hear you; I want to hear your genuine intentions, if you want this road here or there” Otti added.
