Agodi Okoro Charges Abia APC Youths On APC Presidential & Guber Campaign Flag-Off In Abia
The All Progressive Congress (APC), will on Tuesday, January 24, 2023, flag-off its presidential and gubernatorial campaign rally in Abia State.
This was disclosed in a statement signed by the assistant secretary, Youth Mobilisation Directorate of the governorship candidate of the APC, High chief Ikechi Emenike.
Meeting with members of the directorate on Sunday, January 15, at the APC State secretariat, the director of the Youth Mobilisation Directorate, Mazi Agodi Okoro, charged the youths to be civil in the discharge of their various assigned duties during the campaign rally and election proper.
Mazi Agodi Okoro noted that the youths make up over 70% of the total voters registration, according to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), adding that 2023 election is an opportunity for the youths to elect candidates who are truly running for elections.
Okoro also noted that judging from the record and capacity of High Chief Ikechi Emenike, he is the candidate to beat in the forthcoming governorship election in Abia state.
He charged the youths to vote High Chief Ikechi Emenike assuring that 70% of his manifesto and programmes are youth centred.
“Go and verify his record on Google if you doubt me. A man whose reward system works; he has empowered a lot of youths in Federal boards and other agencies like Engineer Solomon Alozie in Rural Electrification Agency(REA) and host of others.
“We are lucky to have him. He is the best thing that has happened so far in the history of Abia APC” Okoro stated.
Okoro warned that 2023 is not the time when youths will be used as election rigging tools and thugs by politicians, assuring that under his leadership, the voice of the youths will be heard and they will get what is due to them.
“There is need for us to come together as one umbrella for proper coordination and recognition. Youths are generally misunderstood and misplaced, we need to show that we are different. We need your full cooperation and support. Absolute respect and commitment is what we need at the moment to get results. Shun blackmails,back stabbing and gossip , let’s unite as one for the first time” he charged.
Coordinators of various groups and party leaders were mandated to ensure that all arrangements are concluded for the smooth sail of the campaign rally.
“This is the time to show strength and support for the party and High Chief Ikechi Emenike the flag bearer” he added.
Okoro also thanked the Governorship candidate High Chief Ikechi Emenike for making adequate logistics provisions for the directorate to function optimally without hitches.
He also thanked the youths for coming out in their large numbers and urged them to show full working in their various localities.
Also addressing the youths, Brown Agada, APYF Coordinator encouraged them to come out en-mass and mobilize for the party in their various villages and Local Governments to ensure that victory is achieved.
The Deputy Director of the Directorate (State youth leader) Honouable Chimaobi Eze, while fielding questions from some of the youths assured that he will join hands with the Director and team to ensure that the agitations of the youths are met .
He also admonished youths on the need to be steadfast in assignments given to them especially on the issue of posters and verification assignments.
Comrade Chibuike Emmanuel (ECOMOG) President Niger Delta Youth Peace Builders lauded High Chief Ikechi Emenike and other candidates of the party. He encouraged the youths to support the directorate’s leadership to achieve its main aim and objectives. While wishing the Director Mazi Agodi Okoro well in his duties, pledging his full support.
