ABIA: The Plight’s Of School For The Blind, Umuahia | READ FULL

 

The chairman/ chief Executive Officer of Oma Nma Life Saving and Health foundation, High Chief Dr. Boniface Ifeanyi Ariekpere Ajuzie has called on Abia state Government ably led by His Excellency Dr. Alex Chioma Otti OFR to come to the immediate assistance of the pupils, students and management of the school for the Blind Afara, Umuahia, Abia State.

 

The call was made during a visit by the Oma Nma Life Saving and Health foundation to the school where they donated various items including cash to assist the students in their day to day activities. citing the high cost of living in the country, and the difficulty for many Nigerian families to take care of their immediate needs and socio economic challenges, Miss Dollaress Ajuzie, the General Administrative Manager of Oma Nma Life and Saving and Health foundation, said it’s most difficult and near impossible for the physically challenged to take care of themselves without the support and assistance from the government, public spirited Nigerians and organizations.

Contributing, the Director General, Oma Nma Life Saving and Health Foundation, Deacon Ahamefula Orji appealed to the Governor of Abia state, whom he described as a caring father and leader, who has dedicated his entire life in the public sector to personally visit the school to see for himself, believing that the visit will afford him the first hand details of the unfortunate plight of the school with the view to ensuring that they get the needed government attention .

Also speaking, Lolo Ijeoma Nwachukwu was of the opinion that the school needs portable water, toilets, braille, beds, food items, describing what was met on ground as an eye sore and described the school as unfit for human habitation, and worst for people that are physically challenged.
