Abia Speaker Leads Principal Officers to commiserate with Late Eze Dr Benard Enweremadu’s Family |PHOTOS

The Speaker of Abia State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Engr Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji today led Principal Officers of the House on a condolence visit to the family of the late Eze Ukwu of Ngwa Land, His Eminence, Dr Eze Bernard Onyenguzo Enweremadu.

The Speaker who described the passing away of the Late Monarch as a monumental loss to the Ngwa nation in particular and Abia State in general, said the late Eze Ukwu as one of the founding Fathers of the State was instrumental in the creation of Abia.

He advised the first son of the Late Monarch, Rt Hon Prince Christopher Benard Enweremadu to sustain his father’s legacies. “We agreed to come in unison to pay our condolence to you because you were one of us sometime ago and it’s pertinent we accord you that respect” the Speaker said.

The Abia number one Lawmaker told son of the deceased Eze to strictly follow his father’s legacies by unifying the family as “there is nothing more important than the unity and security of the immediate family. Your father needs to be celebrated because he lived a fulfilled life and that includes the strong bond in the family”.

Rt Hon Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji further pledged that Members of the Abia State House of Assembly will support the family during the burial ceremony, and prayed that the soul of the deceased find rest in the bossom of the Lord and that the family be given the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

Responding, Rt Hon Prince Christopher Benard Enweremadu thanked the Speaker and Principal Officers of the Abia State House of Assembly for coming to condole with him and the family, saying he was overwhelmed by the visit. He promised to adhere to the advice of the Speaker by ensuring that peace reigns in the family and also sustain his late father’s legacies so his name will remain indelible in the hearts of Abians.

The Deputy Speaker of the House, Rt Hon Ifeanyi Uchendu, Majority Leader, Hon Solomon Akpulonu, Deputy Majority Leader, Hon Paul Taribo, Deputy Minority Whip, Hon Emeka Okoroafor were amongst the Principal Officers that joined the Speaker on the condolence visit.

The Speaker and the Principal Officers signed the condolence register after which a minute silence was observed in honour of the late Monarch.
