All Facts Newspaper had reported that the lawmaker was summoned by the office of the Assistant Inspector General of Police, Force Intelligence Bureau (FIB), Abuja for allegedly threatening ‘someone’s life’. READ HERE

Speaking to All Facts Newspaper on Friday, September 2, the Head of Media and Publicity, Ginger Onwusibe Campaign Team, Ihesinachi Okite Okite, Esq, quoted his principal as saying that on arrival at the police headquarter, Abuja, Onwusibe was informed that a petition was leveled against him by a lawyer on behalf of Governor Ikpeazu alleging that he was caught on camera threatening to kill the governor at an event in Obingwa.

The petition was supported with an affidavit sworn to by Barrister Charles Eseonu the Honorable commissioner for youths.

“Ginger told them that he never threatened the governor and demanded to see the video. They claimed they don’t have the video”.

Onwusibe refuted threatening to kill the governor but owned up to criticizing him “for owing civil servants, for having not done well so far and that does not justify saying that I threatened to kill the governor” the lawmaker was quoted as saying.

Onwusibe maintained that the reason why he is being accused is because he left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), for Labour Party.

“they also alleged that he threatened that if PDP comes to campaign in Isialangwa he will kill somebody, and he said show me where I said that, they couldn’t show him anything” Okite said.

The aide noted that whatever be the allegation, it is a bailable offence, while calling on supporters o Ginger Onwusibe to remain calm.

“we enjoin our constituents, the good people of Isiala Ngwa North and South, our party faithfuls and our numerous supporters to remain calm under this vexatious and unwarranted distractions.

We encourage all of us to keep being firm, resolute and undeterred in our quest to give our people the best of representation. We shall continue to work hard together until our success is achieved.

With God on our side, Ginger will come back stronger.”

However, information reaching AFNEWS has it that Ginger Onwusibe has been released.
