ABIA: APGA Debunks Chikwe Udensi’s Claims, Issue Warning | READ DETAILS
The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Abia State, have debunked what they called ‘the series of lies’ being peddled against the party by one of its own, Sir Chikwe Udensi.
Addressing the media in a world press conference in Umuahia on June 9, 2022, the state chairman of the party, Rev. Augustine Ehiemere, noted that Udensi who was one of the party’s 2023 guber aspirants, is ‘on a well-planned and orchestrated mission to malign the integrity of APGA in Abia State”.
The party frowned at claims by Udensi, stating that he won the May 29 guber primary election held at Kolpin society in Umuahia.
“this assertion by Sir Chikwe Udensi is very misleading, deceiving, fraudulent, false-hearted, ridiculous and a calculated lie from the pit of hell aimed at deceiving the teaming populace of Abia State” the party said.
Recall that Udensi was declared winner of the primary at Villa Roy hotel, a claim that Ehiemere swiftly debunked maintaining that the primary was still ongoing as at then.
Ehiemere said the state party has nothing against Udensi, however, it will not accept “the attitude of a man who calls himself an APGA faithful by going around to parade lies against the party in the state.”
The party warned that it will not tolerate any uncivilized and well-orchestrated lies peddled against it by Udensi.
“APGA Abia state hereby debunk all the lies peddled against it by Sir Chikwe Udensi both on the social media and electronic media. Udensi should guard his utterances against the party which have great consequences as the party is bigger than any individual”. the party said.
APGA maintained that Udensi has never contributed any money towards the running of the party in the state as against his claims.
“for nearly 3 years now, Udensi has never contributed any kobo in running the activities of the party in Abia State, let alone paying members of the state working committee every month as he deceitfully claimed” it added.
According to Ehiemere, Udensi’s grievance is because the party resisted all his attempts to foreclose the party including thwarting Udensi’s alleged ploy to use ‘imported’ delegates during the guber primary.
“the state leadership of this party did not succumb to the antics of Udensi, rather the party remained resolute and focused in making sure that sound and credible persons will contest the APGA governorship primaries.
The state party chairman affirmed that Prof. Gregory Ibe remains the party’s guber candidate for 2023 election adding that the party expects Udensi and other aspirants who feel aggrieved to “subject themselves to supremacy of the party by supporting the party and its candidates to make sure that APGA wins the 2023 elections” adding that ‘going to court won’t do the party good with its vision.
“Join us, let us together, change the leadership of the state” Ehiemere called on the aspirants who didn’t win the primaries.
He also called on Abians and Igbos at large to support APGA candidates at various level.
Others at the conference were; Elder Sunday Onukwubiri, state party secretary; Chukwuemeka Nwokoro, state legal adviser among other members of the state working committee.
