Otti gave this assurance on Thursday in Igbere during a courtesy visit to the traditional ruler’s in Bende North Local Government Area.
Speaking to the traditional rulers at the palace of HRH, Eze Uwakwe O. Ukaegbu (Ofufe II of Igbere), the former renowned banker stated that he is one person who has high regards for traditional authorities.
He said, “Constitutionally, Ndi Eze should have about 5-10% allocation which they have been denied by the current administration. Our administration will take care of the traditional rulers in the state, and restore the dignity of the Traditional Institution in Abia state”.
The Nigerian Economist stressed that his desire to govern Abia has nothing to do with selfishness, he revealed that his desire is to restore the dignity of the people of the state who have suffered because of bad governance.
According to him, he will make sure that the resources of Abia will be used for them while assuring to clear all the arrears of salaries before the end of the year, if elected the governor.
“We have enough resources to pay Abia workers, including pensions and gratuities, and we will make sure that before the end of the year, everyone that is being owed is paid”
Otti who asserted that he is the best among all the governorship candidates in the state, accused the government of spreading themselves into different parties to further impoverish Abians.
“Let them come out and face me to a debate and tell me why they are better than me, and if established, I will step down and even support them financially, but at the moment, I don’t see anybody”
He called on Abians to join hands together to restore the state as this is the last chance to do so, or have posterity judge.
Responding, the Chairman of Bende North Traditional Ruler’s Council, Eze Uwakwe Ukaegbu thanked him for acknowledging them in his governorship pursuit and pledged Bende North people’s unalloyed support for him.
He also adorned him with a chieftaincy tittle of ‘‘Olilanya Ndi Abia’’ while urging him to keep to his promises and never forget the people of Bende when he becomes the governor of the state.
