In reaction to the proscription of the NANS stakeholders in Abia State due to the outcry of students as well as stakeholders through the council of students Union presidents in Abia State,the Abia State government through the office of Special Assistant to the Governor on Student Affairs has constituted a 24 man Students Advisory Council.
In a statement personally signed by the S.A on student to the Abia State Governor Ndom Chibuzor Uchendu listed the members of the Advisory council as;

The responsibilities of the council includes among other things;
I) To play an advisory role to the various students union Government and different students Associations in the State.
ii) To checkmate the excesses in the students community which could threaten the smooth running of students union activities and the existing peace in the students community and the state in general.
iii) To work closely with office of the S.A on students affairs in making sure the objectives the council is achieved.
The S.A on students to Hon .Ndom Uchendu congratulated members of the council for their appointment, but however warned that his office will not hesitate to remove any member of the council who deviates from aims and objectives of the council.
