- Can we get to meet you sir?
Chief Nwaka O Inem, Director Contact and mobilization, Alex Otti Campaign Organization.
- 2019 elections will formally kick off on the 16th of Feb, as an APGA member what do you see?
We are expecting a manifestation of the burning desire of our people to take their destiny in their hands by the way they will vote. It will signal the end of an era of deceit and impostors that has hitherto occupied our political space. APGA has been able to raise the political consciousness of our people, especially on the principle of been your brother’s keeper, as well as rediscovering the inherent ability to innovate and develop at our pace, despite surrounding challenges.
- It is said in some quarters that Abiriba is APGA, some say it is PDP, can you tell Abians where you think Abiriba people will stand this election?
It is not in contest. In 2015, APGA won in all the units and wards of Abiriba both at national and governorship elections. Nothing has been done by PDP or the state government to change that situation. As a matter of fact, the gap has increased in favour of APGA. Abiriba simply will still vote APGA in all the elections, and will be more emphatic in victory, this 2019 elections.
- A prominent Abiriba business typhoon Chief Jombo Okebulu endorsed Gov. Okezie Ikpeazzu recently in Aba based on the information trending online, does that not show that Abiriba is now PDP?
There is gross abuse and misapplication of the word “endorsement” in this context. That an “AMADI” is in his house and you visited him, and out of hospitality compatible with a noble Abiriba man, he appreciated your visit and entertained you lavishly, you then turn to call it endorsement. Let him rely on that and face the reality that will confront him on 2nd March.
I know Chief Okebulu Jombo very well, not only as a prominent man, but a close senior friend (Nnam Uku) of mine. He was simply quoted out of context. It might interest you to also note that Dr. Alex Otti has equally visited him in his Abiriba country home not Aba home, where he welcomed and equally encouraged him given their longstanding business and family relationship. Chief Okebulu Jombo, as one of our best achieving and successful business man, and not a politician. He should not be dragged into any one’s campaign especially when they are having difficulties explaining their gross inaction in the last 20 years of PDP. If Chief Okebulu Jombo wants to send a political message of such magnitude, he will definitely do so in his country home at Abiriba not Aba, where he received Ikpeazu.
- As a known Alex Otti follower, do you think he has a good chance to win 2019 guber election holding on the 2nd of march?
The chances are far brighter than it was in 2015 for so many obvious reasons ranging from the relative non-performance of the Ikpeazu led government to the improved political consciousness of Abia people, not to talk of the increasing appreciation of what good governance means. Simply put March 2nd 2019 will be a far improvement of 2015.
- Finally, what do you have to tell Abians concerning these elections?
Abians should ignore all traits of intimidation and come out to vote their conscience, knowing fully that their destiny is in their hand. Eschew violence and acts capable of causing breakdown of law and order. Respect the right of fellow Abians and dignity of life. God bless all Abians as they vote out the Pharaohs of our time.
