… Top Abia Officials Set to Storm Isuikwuato as December Cultural Fiesta Gains Momentum

The Abia State Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General, Barr. Ikechukwu Uwanna, SAN, has once again thrown his weight behind the Isuikwuato Nwannewukwu Cultural Festival, assuring the organisers of his personal attendance and strong institutional support ahead of the December event.

Uwanna gave the assurance during a courtesy visit by the Chairman of the Isuikwuato Nwannewukwu Cultural Festival Planning Committee, Chief Agu Godswill Egbe, who led members of the committee to his office as part of strategic engagements with key stakeholders across the state.

The Attorney General described the festival as a powerful platform for cultural rebirth, unity and tourism development, noting that it aligns with the Abia State Government’s broader agenda of promoting cultural heritage and grassroots identity.

According to him, the forthcoming edition of the festival has already generated excitement at the highest levels of government, revealing that several members of the Abia State Executive Council have marked the event on their calendars and are planning to be physically present in Isuikwuato.

“This festival has gone beyond a local celebration. It is now a strong instrument for projecting Isuikwuato as a place of cultural significance within Abia State and beyond,” Uwanna stated.

The Attorney General commended the organising committee for the consistency, planning and vision that have sustained the Nwannewukwu Cultural Festival over the years. He noted that the event has become a unifying symbol for sons and daughters of Isuikwuato, while also serving as a magnet for visitors, investors and culture enthusiasts.

Uwanna stressed that such initiatives deserve continuous encouragement, especially as Abia State seeks to reposition itself as a destination for culture-driven development and tourism.

In a symbolic moment during the visit, Chief Agu Godswill Egbe presented the official festival wrapper to the Attorney General as a mark of honour and appreciation for his unwavering support.

Responding, Chief Egbe thanked the Attorney General for his consistent encouragement, support and deep interest in matters concerning Isuikwuato. He described Uwanna as a dependable ally of cultural development and assured him that the committee remains committed to delivering a well-organised, colourful and impactful festival.

The Isuikwuato Nwannewukwu Cultural Festival is scheduled to hold from December 23 to 24, 2025, and will feature rich displays of Isuikwuato cultural heritage, including traditional dances, masquerades, music, local cuisine, fashion and other indigenous expressions.

The event is expected to attract government officials, traditional rulers, cultural groups, community leaders, indigenes at home and in the diaspora, as well as tourists from across the state and beyond.
