The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has released results from 13 of the 18 Local Government Areas (LGAs) in the ongoing Edo governorship election, with the All Progressives Congress (APC) holding a significant lead.
As of the current results, APC has garnered 180,369 votes, leaving its closest rival, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), behind with 160,333 votes. Meanwhile, the Labour Party (LP) trails far behind with 10,247 votes.
The Edo Governorship election, which has seen a tight contest between the APC and PDP, is still ongoing as INEC is yet to announce results from five more LGAs. With both parties’ supporters anxiously awaiting the final tally, the current figures suggest that the APC may be on course to secure a crucial victory in Edo State.
