ABIA: Employment Racketeers Are Selling Jobs For N350,000 To Abians – Labour Party Tells Gov. Ikpeazu
The Labour Party in Abia State has continued to lament over an alleged employment racketeering ongoing in the state Civil Service by agents of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), few weeks to transition of power.
The Labour Party in a statement released on Thursday, May 4 and signed by Mr Njoku Jerry, the state Publicity Secretary, alleged that about 2000 persons have illegally been employed recently into the Ministry of Statistics and Planning, Ministry of Trade and Investment, Abia State Board of Internal Revenue, Ministry of Finance and others after paying as high as N350,000.
The Labour Party called on the incumbent governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu to call to order, his “agents and staff who are engaged in this unwarranted criminal behaviors as their actions will certainly be brought to book both their sponsors and accomplice at the appropriate time.”
The party further advised victims of the job racketeering between the month of April to May 2023, to report anyone who collected money from them to the police, adding that their “employment letters are fake and will not stand any test of scrutiny by the Incoming government.”

ABIA; LP RAISES ALARM OVER ONGOING FAKE EMPLOYMENT & WANTON LAST MINUTE LOOTING OF STATE RESOURCES BY PDP LED GOVT. OF OKEZIE IKPEAZU
This is to call the attention of the General public and residents of Abia State to be very cautious of falling victims of an ongoing fake employment and job recruitment into the state civil service and grand larceny of office items and properties belonging to Abia State government by the outgoing PDP rogue elements parading as political office holders.
This is an act of sabotage, deception and broad day robbery by the Gov Okezie Ikpeazu led outgoing government.
One would have expected individuals parading as PhD holders and their cohorts to have a sense of civility to understand that government is an ongoing process that transcends beyond our little circle of political influence. Once your tenure is over another begins from where you stop in the governing process for the benefit of the people and the state.
It is disappointing to learn that the defeated and outgoing PDP led government of Gov Okezie Ikpeazu will tolerate such unpatriotic and criminal intent against the people of Abia State after all the goodwill the people of the state has bestowed upon him and his followers.
As I write, the fake job recruitment continues through the backdoor in ministries where unscrupulous agents of government bragging as core PDP members are alleged to be collecting as high as N350,000 Naira from unsuspecting members of the public to place them on high positions as government staff.
A case in point is the fake recruitment of individuals as staff of the Ministry of Statistics and Planning, Ministry of Trade and Investment, Abia State Board of Internal Revenue and Ministry of Finance and others, whom as it stands has issued employment to over 2000 individuals
We are also using this medium to call the attention of the General public and residents of Abia to report to the police anyone who has collected money from them to offer them employment in any of these ministries between the month of April to May 2023
The said employment letter is fake and will not stand any test of scrutiny by the Incoming government.
The Gov Okezie Ikpeazu led PDP government should as a matter of urgency call to order his agents and staff who are engaged in this unwarranted criminal behaviors as their actions will certainly be brought to book both their sponsors and accomplice at the appropriate time
The LP incoming government of Dr. ALEX OTTI has already devised a working template of what quality governance should look like, including a healthy workforce that is committed to the development of the state.
Therefore, any attempt to scuttle such great ideas will be met with stiff resistance by the people of Abia State whom has wholeheartedly rejected PDP and everything it stands for.
Signed
Njoku Jerry A
