Abia PDP Hosts South East Youth Symposium On Resetting Nigeria, Assures Atiku Of Victory
The Abia State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) New Generation on Friday 10th February 2023, played host to the South east youth symposium in continuation of Atiku Abubakar’s campaign ahead of the February 25, 2023 presidential election.
The symposium which was themed “Reset Nigeria with Atiku\Okowa 2023” had the presence of delegates from the five south east states, national and state leaders of the party, youths and other party faithful’s.
Speaking at the meeting, the daughter of Atiku Abubakar who doubles as the National chairperson PDP New Generation, Hauwa Atiku Uwais, stated that Atiku Abubakar has always prioritised the welfare of Nigeria and her citizens which is why he is still seeking Nigerians’ mandate to build a better country.
She regretted the level of insecurity recorded in the south east, which she said should not have existed from on set. Uwais assured that if elected, Atiku Abubakar will ensure that issues bordering on security would be addressed amicably.
She called on the youths to vote for Atiku to become the next president of Nigeria and also ensure that the 2023 general elections goes peacefully.
Earlier in his address, Dr. Shima Ayu, the DDG North Central PDP New Generation Presidential Campaign Council, noted that Nigeria needs a man like Atiku who is out to ensure true federalism, quality education, security and a reformed Nigeria.
He charged the youths to vote Atiku whom he said can repair the damages caused in the country by the APC led administration.
On his own part, the Deputy Director, south east PDP Youth presidential campaign council, Dr Ugochukwu Williams, stated that Atiku, among other presidential candidate, remains the only one who has prioritised resetting and unifying Nigeria. He assured that Atiku will ensure that the grievances of the south east people are addressed if elected.
In his own remark, Rt Honourable Chikwendu Kalu, former speaker of the Abia state House of Assembly, noted that the present structure of Nigeria is one of the problems of the country and Atiku has vowed to restructure the country to ensure that peace and unity reigns in every part of the country.
“Take a decision on February 25. Vote Atiku Abubakar to push Nigeria up from the years of backwardness APC has plunged us into” Kalu charged.
Other dignitaries at the symposium include; Chief Charles Ogbonna, Kingsley Megwara, Hon. Uko Nkole, among others.
