Why I Don’t Attend Debates Like Other Candidates – Tinubu Speaks In London
Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu, the 2023 presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC), has revealed why he has serially been absent at media debates and town hall meetings attended by other candidates ahead of the election.
Tinubu accused conveners of the debates and town hall meetings of trying to make money using him as he is a “marketable individual.”
The presidential hopeful while speaking at Chatham House in London on Monday said;
“I see myself as a marketable individual. You want to use me to make money and I’m saying no.”
Tinubu has never participated in any of the debates or meetings meant for presidential candidates with the most recent being the town hall meeting held on Sunday December 4, hosted by Arise TV in partnership with other platforms.
Peter Obi of the Labour Party, Atiku Abubakar of the PDP and Rabiu Kwankwaso of the NNPP were in attendance.
