Ibrahim Shekarau Formally Defects To PDP | READ MORE
Ibrahim Shekarau, the Senator representing Kano Central, has moved to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Shekarau who was a former governor of the state, defected from the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).
He had announced his withdrawal from the party in August, 29, 2022, citing unfair treatment by the NNPP.
He had earlier moved from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the NNPP.
Shekarau however, formally announced his defection to the PDP before the floor of the senate during Wednesday, September 21, plenary.
Senate president Ahmad Lawan read Shekarau’s letter of defection before the House, afterward, he was welcomed by PDP senators led by the minority leader , Philip Aduda, and the minority whip, Chukwuka Utazi.
