Court Grants DSS’s Request To Detain Tukur Mamu For 60-Days
Justice Nkeonye Maha of a Federal High Court in Abuja, has granted the request made by the Department of State Services (DSS), to further detain Tukur Mamu, the terrorists’ negotiator for 60-days.
DSS had through its legal representative, Ahmed Magaji in a motion marked: FHC/ABJ/CS/1617/2022 filed on September 12, prayed the court to grant its reliefs to enable it to conclude its investigation on Mamu, who had been leading the negotiation with the terrorists for the release of the Abuja-Kaduna train passengers kidnapped in March, 2022.
Recall that Mamu was arrested by Interpol in Cairo, Eqypt and repatriated to Nigeria where DSS took him into custody.
Islamic cleric Sheikh Ahmad Gumi whom Mamu works for as a media consultant, had asked DSS to charge Mamu to court instead of detaining him in their custody.
