Abia Poly Rector Address Students Over Withdrawal Of NBTE Accreditation | READ DETAILS
The Rector, Abia State Polytechnic, Aba, Professor Okorie Kalu Osonwa, has assured that there are moves to resolve the crisis rocking the institution as the school management are in talks with the state government.
Prof. Osonwa gave the assurance while addressing students of the polytechnic on Wednesday, July 20 on the National Board of Technical Education (NBTE)’s recent withdrawal of accreditation from the institution.
The NBTE withdrew accreditation from the polytechnic due to unpaid salaries of workers for 30 months.
According to the rector, the school management and the state government are in talks, seeking ways to resolve the issue
He urged the students not to be carried away by stories online and assured them that the issue will soon be resolved. The students were equally advised to continue with their academic activities.
NBTE’s withdrawal of Abia Poly’s accreditation, comes less than three months the National Universities Commission (NUC), withdrew medical license from the Abia State University Teaching Hospital (ABSUTH).
NUC withdrew its license from ABSUTH due to unpaid salaries, and constant strike.
