The first phase of the skill acquisition programme of Abia Young Progressives Party (YPP) Gubernatorial Candidate, Engineer Enyinnaya Chima Nwafor’s Each One Aid One Foundation, have commenced with a total of five thousand and ten (5,010) youths.
The skill acquisition which kick-started on Tuesday, August 16, 2022 will have participants acquiring skills in photography, pastries, shoe/bag making, computer troubleshooting/software installation; make – up artistry, cloth making, event planning, and graphics design.
Giving words of admonition to beneficiaries of the first batch, the facilitator, Chima Nwafor in a statement wrote;
Dear Abia Youth,
YOU DESERVE TO BE TREATED WITH DIGNITY AND OPTIMUM RESPECT
Today, I bring you good tidings. I have been intimated with news of your show of overwhelming enthusiasm as the 1st phase of our skill acquisition programme commenced on the 16th of August as scheduled. I am also aware that the organisers from Each One Aid One Foundation successfully registered 5,010 participants. The skill areas of photography, pastries, shoe/bag making, computer troubleshooting/software installation; make – up artistry, cloth making, event planning and graphics design will be more than a meal ticket for you.
Recall my message to you on INTERNATIONAL YOUTH DAY (IYD). You deserve to be treated with dignity and optimum respect. This can be achieved when you work towards self – reliance. The skills you are learning today will, God willing, move you one step from being seen as a decorative accessory. We deliberately engaged Abians who started this small, to inspire you to hit the very zenith of your passion.
I am not unmindful of the reported issues of over subscription. This phase is a pilot test. God willing, the next batch will see 20,000 participating until we expose the targeted 100,000 youths to amazing skills. This means more and more Abia Youths will be trained in diverse skills.
Do not let anybody discourage you. Learning a skill does not foreclose your being exposed to other rewarding ventures. Learn to show yourself approved.
Congratulations as you start your journey to the top.
God bless you immensely”
