The Speaker of Abia State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Engr Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji earlier today joined the Governor of Abia State, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu, at the commissioning of the reconstructed Immaculate Heart Avenue, Umungasi Aba, Osisioma Ngwa LGA, for public use.
Speaking at the epoch making ceremony, the Speaker thanked the Governor for his massive developmental strides in the State particularly in Aba the business hub of Abia.
He commended the Governor for building quality and durable roads that will last for years upon using the rigid pavement technology especially in Aba.
The Speaker said the economic importance of Immaculate Heart Avenue cannot be overemphasized because the road is strategic in the commercial city of Aba.
The State Number One Lawmaker emphasised that with the infrastructural face lift in Aba as embarked upon by the Governor, the internally generated revenue of the State will improve.
“We are proud of you, we will continue to support you, don’t listen to detractors because anyone that will come out to say you are not doing well is simply an enemy of the State” the Speaker concluded.
Afterward, the Governor, Dr Okezie Victor Ikpeazu commissioned the road to the Glory of God.
Deputy Governor of Abia State, Rt Hon Ude Oko Chukwu, Secretary to the State Government, Barr Chris Ezem, Members of the State House of Assemby, Local Government Chairmen, Elder Statesmen, Traditional rulers, Clergymen, Market & Transport Unions and other top government functionaries attended the event.
