WORLD CUP: Why MKO Abiola Stadium Was Banned By FIFA| READ DETAILS

On the road to football’s largest convention slated for November in Qatar, World football governing body, FIFA has struck the MKO Abiola Stadium with an indefinite ban.

The famed arena became a global subject after dissatisfied fans went berserk, ravaging and leaving chaos in acts of violence.

Recall Nigeria’s Super Eagles were ousted in a 1-1 draw that ended in favour of their visitors, Black Stars of Ghana at the MKO Abiola Stadium.

Infuriated by the turn-out of events, faithfuls of the team stormed the pitch, causing destruction and a stampede that led to several casualties.

FIFA’s resolve to ban the stadium from international football matches indefinitely might be followed by more sanctions on Nigeria for the dearth of security during the clash.
