Wike Reveals What Will Happen To Omehia If He Fails To Pay Back N696M
Rivers state governor, Nyesom Wike, has justified his immediate approval of the state House of Assembly’s decision to strip Celestine Omehia of ‘His Excellency’ title and also mandate him to return all entitlement and benefits he received as a former governor of the state.
ALL FACTS NEWSPAPER had reported that the Rivers State Assembly had on October 6, 2022, passed a motion that Celestine Omehia who was the fourth Governor of the State, from May 29, 2007 to October 25, 2007 should refund all monetary benefits, especially the sum of 600 million naira in benefits and 96.5 million naira in pension he has so far received as at September 2022 from the Rivers State Government within seven days. Responding to what will be the fate of Omehia if he fails to pay up the money on Friday, October 14 during a media chat in Port Harcourt, monitored by ALL FACTS NEWSPAPER, Wike said the Attorney General of the State will advise the state government on the next line of action.
“allow the ultimatum given to Omehia to pay back the entitlements. If he doesn’t pay, the Attorney General of the state will advise us on what to do to” he said.
